Investigating Creates Understanding
We investigate to learn and become problem-solvers who make the world a better place.
We immerse our first graders in learning experiences that prompt them to ask good questions, develop investigations, and consider possible solutions. We then want them to communicate and act upon what they learn.

Investigating Scientists!
What tools and strategies can we use to investigate our natural world and solve problems to make the world a better place?

Investigating Citizens!
What can we learn about people/places to become responsible citizens making a difference in our own lives and the lives of others?

I’m passionate about creating learning spaces where all students feel safe, valued, and inspired to grow. My teaching is built on a strong classroom community where authentic learning happens through collaboration, curiosity, and connection. I believe the world around us is a powerful tool for discovery, and I guide students to use real-life experiences to make their own sense of concepts and shape their educational paths of success. For me, teaching isn’t just about content, it’s about cultivating confidence, community, and making sense of the world around them!

I am so excited to join Lone Tree Elementary's amazing first grade team! I have a passion for sparking curiosity and growth in young learners! I really enjoy helping students gain confidence in all academic areas so they can make the learning their own. It is important to me to meet students where they are by providing differentiated learning. By fostering authentic relationships and providing clear expectations, I strive to promote success within different learning styles. Hands-on-learning and teaching to the whole child is a priority in my classroom. I believe each child is unique and filled with the potential to make a difference in their world, so it is important that each student feels seen and encouraged to be their best! When I'm not in my classroom, you'll likely find me baking, crocheting, or exploring the outdoors with family and friends.

I believe that making strong connections with students in a nurturing environment, is the foundation for academic success. Passionate about literacy and maximizing individual student growth, I love helping young readers and writers develop skills that will allow them to reach their highest potential. Setting high expectations and guiding children to rise to the challenge socially, emotionally, I encourage students to think critically and creatively through collaboration, the use of technology, and authentic and differentiated learning activities.
