Exploration Inspires Learning

We explore to uncover the possibilities for our own learning.

These early years of exploration and purposeful play lead to spontaneous learning possibilities. We encourage our Kindergartners to be curious, ask good questions, and explore different ways to learn about our natural and human world.

Exploring Our Natural World

How can we explore our natural world to help us learn how things work?

Exploring Our Communities, Past and Present

What can we learn from people, both past and present, to make our community better?

Shannon Arro

  • Masters in Literacy, University of Colorado, 2000

  • Certification in Elementary Education, University of Colorado, 1998

  • Bachelor's in Sociology/Mental Health, University of Colorado, Boulder 1997

Born and raised in Southern California, I knew I wanted to be a teacher and live near the mountains, and I made this dream a reality by attending CU Boulder. I believe in a balanced life, taking quality time out for my family. My husband and I have teenage boy/girl twins, and you’ll find us outdoors all year long; hiking, biking and skiing! I consider myself extremely lucky to have a career that I'm so passionate about. Children have a way of lighting up a room with imagination and curiosity, making my days brighter. I am truly blessed to be apart of their academic experience!

Nicolle Reece

  • Bachelor in Communication, University of South Florida, Tampa

My family, consisting of my two sons and two adorable puppies, loves the outdoors and we take full advantage of everything Colorado has to offer. You can find us on the weekends paddle boarding, fly fishing, hiking, camping, and taking pictures of nature. My true passion is teaching kindergarten because I love the curiosity and eagerness to learn at this age. After teaching kindergarten in many different capacities in public schools and Montessori, I am very fortunate to be a part of this LTE, with collaborative and supportive teachers/staff and a fantastic community!

I have been in Colorado most of my life spending a short time in Alabama. I am an adventurous person and I love to spend time exploring the United States in our RV with my family, riding mountain bikes, paddle boarding, kayaking, and hiking. My goal as an educator is to create lasting connections with my students and provide a safe comfortable environment where all learners can thrive.
